Treatment Approaches

We are complex individuals with many working parts that affect how we think, feel, and behave. With this in mind, it is important to consider the whole person through the journey of therapy. I draw on a range of disciplines to ensure the needs of the whole person are addressed.  I include elements of the more traditional modes of therapy, including Humanistic, Person-Centered, and Existential. Modalities I focus on more in-depth include Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) for learning new ways of thinking, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for learning new ways of managing emotions and feelings, and Narrative Therapy for bringing much-needed perspective and new ways of seeing and thinking about ourselves, our problems, and our experiences. I use a combination of one or more of these techniques depending on the unique needs of the individual.
